Cadée Distillery – Clinton
At Cadée Distillery they believe in the tradition of small batch spirits made by hand. The Campbell Clan has been distilling for over 500 years, since 1494. Cadée, which means “pure” in Gaelic, signifies their commitment to using only the purest ingredients to craft thier spirits in a pristine and pure setting… The Isle of Whidbey.
With a passion for the natural environment and resources found in the Pacific Northwest, Cadée Distillery was created by a true Scotsman named Colin Campbell. He was enchanted by the alchemy of spirits at an early age with his first wee dram in the Laphroig Distillery in Scotland. After receiving the internationally recognized gold-standard Master Distiller qualification from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in London, Colin went on to distilling spirits in the Middle East. Crafting delicious and unique flavors, he has now created a local distillery on The Isle of Whidbey where he lives with his family.
Stop by and sample the classically exquisite tastes of his hand crafted vodka, gin, rye whiskey, and bourbon whiskey.

Holmes Harbor Cellars – Freeland
Greg and Theresa Martinez, owners of Holmes Harbor Cellars, are the best definition of a perfect pairing. Blending art with science, together they create a distinctive wine experience for their guests.
A musician, a pilot, and poet, Greg heads up the winemaking duo. Schooled in enology through the University of Davis, they both are graduates of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Surrounded by California’s most romantic wine region, it was during their college years that the couple met and fell in love over 20 years ago.
Now, with Theresa a professional chemist and Greg an instructor for the Naval Reserve, the time was right for them to pursue their dream of building a winery on Whidbey Island. Truly a balanced partnership, the couple founded Holmes Harbor Cellars in 2005, and released their first wines in 2008.
Arrive at their 20-acre wooded estate overlooking Holmes Harbor where stress simply disappears. Walk past the bubbling fountain, through the arched doorway. Hear music, created by the multi-talented winemaker who displays as much complexity and character as the wines he makes. Drink in the dramatic stucco, wood and European tapestries, reflections of the family’s love for international travel and natural beauty. Surrounded by steel tanks and oak barrels, allow the active sounds and classic scents of a busy cellar to wash over you. Taste through an impressive line up of well-crafted wines. Once you’ve visited Holmes Harbor Cellars we think you’ll understand why we call our Pacific Northwest paradise… the Emerald Island.

The Terrace Wine Bar & Bistro – Oak Harbor
The Terrace Wine Bar & Bistro in Oak Harbor, WA is one of my favorite places on the north end of the island when I want to have a relaxing conversation, and good glass of wine.
Sophisticated yet cozy, comfortable in a low key atmosphere. Owner Brian Morgan Hughes has created a place like none other in the area. There are two areas to mingle, adjacent to one another yet each with a little bit different vibe. Together they’re the perfect place for relaxing after work, before going out to dinner, or ending an evening out on the town.
In the more traditional tasting room setting, you can grab a chair at the bar or at a nearby high top table for 2+. I enjoy this area when I want to mingle, and have a bit more interaction with Brian as he’s pouring and serving. Brian has a wonderful knowledge of wine, is always curious to learn about new wines (which he then shares with us!). There are favorite wines on the list, yet he always seems to have something new to try. I like expanding my horizons in the world of wine, and Brian’s willingness to bring in new offerings gives everyone the opportunity to sample new wines we might otherwise never have.
I’ll call his other sitting area the “lounge”. This where I’d go for a more subdued conversation with someone special. It’s sort of like a well appointed parlor, with a fireplace and comfortable chair and sofa seating.
Featuring an eclectic selection of wines from around the world, along with ever changing small bites and appetizers to complement and enhance your preferred wine choice, this place is charming and inviting.
You’ll have an experience like none other on the island.
